      For ELLs, Common Core Could be a Good Thing

      According to a new report from the Education Trust, the Common Core State Standards, while challenging, provide promise in helping to close achievement gaps among English Language Learners (ELLs). Researchers analyzed state and federal data from the 276 California unified school districts with more than 100 ELL students. Findings showed that the top performers were those that are embracing and adapting to the demands of the Common Core. The key to this high performance is implementation.
